Nicaragua:
Dr. Ginther has a love for the people of Latin America and uses
his skill and experience in Nicaragua through the Nicaragua Resource
Network. This organization, founded in 1996, serves as a channel
for resources to aid impoverished children and families in Nicaragua
(www.NicaResourceNet.org).
In 1999, Dr. Ginther began working with the chief of the orthopaedic
residency program in the capital of Nicaragua to teach joint replacement
and improve the technology available to these people. He has made
numerous trips to this country and has an ongoing relationship with
surgeons there to continue to raise the standard of orthopaedic
care. Through the Nicaragua Resource Network, pharmaceutical companies
have donated surgical equipment and implants that enable the Nicaraguan
physicians to continue the level of care. Dr. Ginthers family
accompanies him to Nicaragua on these trips and is involved with
local churches building schools, church buildings and furthering
friendships in the name of Jesus Christ.
Military:
Having spent 29 years in uniform, Dr. Ginther has a love for the
men and women who serve to protect our country. Dr. Ginther is actively
involved in the Officers Christian Fellowship. This is a non-denominational
ministry which encourages and prepares officers and their families
for Christian life and fellowship in the armed forces. This ministry
was a tremendous support to Dr. Ginther and his family throughout
his years of active duty and he continues to participate so that
those currently serving in the armed forces may also be blessed.
Dr. Ginther and his wife serve on the Advisory Council of Spring
Canyon, a family camp for military personnel located in Buena Vista,
Colorado. He is also active in planning a medical conference for
military personnel at this facility annually.("Military"
